Katleen Vermeir & Ronny Heiremans
The work of Brussels based artists Katleen Vermeir & Ronny Heiremans is recognized for its innovative artistic concepts and has a long-standing relationship with architecture. For over a decade Vermeir & Heiremans have realized acclaimed projects nationally and internationally. Their work has been presented in New York, London, Montreal. At the 10th Istanbul Biennial in 2007 they presented A.I.R extension#10. Since 2006 both artists have been developing A.I.R, a collaborative research project that examines architecture, and domestic architecture in particular, as an ideological gesture.
“The Good Life” is part of the A.I.R project.
The beneficiaries of numerous grants (Pollock-Krasner, Flanders Image, …), Vermeir & Heiremans have participated in artist residency programs in P.S.1, New York, Platform Garanti, Istanbul, a.o. In September 2009 they will take up residency in Xiamen, China.

The name references the coordinates of Brussels. 51N4E is a prize winning international practice that concerns itself with matters of space production i.e. architecture, urbanism, design and spatial analysis. The office is lead by 3 partners: Johan Anrys, Freek Persyn and Peter Swinnen. 51N4E was founded in 1998 and gained renown through key projects such as Lamot (2005), Groeningemuseum (2002), TID Tower Tirana (2004/08) and C-Mine (2006/09).
In 2004 the practice was rewarded the prestigious Rotterdam Maaskant Award for Young Architects.
Recently 51N4E has won the international competition for the rehabilitation of Scanderbeg Square, Tirana (Al).

In his work sound artist Justin Bennett charts the noise with which we are surrounded daily. Bennett grew up in the UK, but came to the Netherlands in the late eighties to study at the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and a continuation study at the Jan van Eyck academy in Maastricht. His is an uncompromising journey through spaces made of noise and times made of sound-dynamics. A camera man, editor and a 2D motion graphic artist Amir Borenstein graduated from The Sandberg Institute (MFA) in New Media. His extensive experience in video production and post production includes the initiation of an independent TV program as well as numerous short films, video art projects, publicities and the conducting of intensive video production workshops with young people around the world initiated by the One Minutes Foundation, Amsterdam, in collaboration with ECF (European Culture Foundation) and UNICEF.
Amir Borenstein is part of the artist duo Effi & Amir that has been working together since 1999.

Starting out as a fashion designer, Mieja Hollevoet shifted her practice early in her career and became a costume designer for theatre. From there she took it a step further and started directing and writing her own plays. Her approach has proven very successful, resulting in the price-winning adaptation of Cinderella, which was awarded the ‘1000 Watt -Best Play’ price in 2002. For the video
